Delayed - no surprise

Our start date of October 7 has been pushed out.   For some strange reason - storm surge, high tides, and 20 K winds  closed most yacht clubs' water fronts - all except Eastern.  No whitecaps, rocking, or high winds, but the gangplanks were pulled up from the docks - with high water surge; thus no launch or dinghy access out.

Drew was counting on redoing all the Nav and Helm connections, continue with the install of the new GPS and change over to a new computer.  Not surprising the old 2004 Tough Book is creating a dilemma for Staples tech desk to retrieve the stored information.  They can't find a cable that will match one computer to the other that's still manufactured.  Drew bought a new PC computer and is trying to reinstall Max Sea since it has the charts he likes and all our saved charted routes.   The new system will not need to have radar on at the same time as the auto pilot and GPS are on; therefore, we'll use a lot less battery power. : ) [I also bought a solar powered battery pack to charge the ipad and phone, shhhhh, it's for Christmas.]
He still needs to complete all this work while also going into Sunrise Labs for work.
And my daughter, Sarah, and son-in-law visited Boston for Yeang's birthday.  We babysat our 20 month old granddaughter, Isabelle.  Super fun for me, hand wringing for Drew who is chomping at the bit to get this whole project completed though hobbled by the weather.

Since the temperatures are changing closer to fall - fogs come in most mornings - the air being a lot warmer than the water.  You cannot see land in this picture or know which direction we're pointing.  That's why we need instruments - a compass at the very least.

And misty sunsets.

Hailing from home in Exeter planting bulbs, closing the garden at the homeless shelter, preparing treasurer reports, attending garden association meetings, and prepping our house for winter.
